Global Fan Gear
Global Fan Gear (GFG) is a custom sports apparel company. The brief was to capture the enthusiasm of sports fans and if possible to allude to the global aspirations of the company.
Sketches and fonts
As always I started with sketching ideas and looking at fonts.
Fans as crown
This concept turns 5 cheering fans into a crown.
Apparel as sail
Just for whimsy I used a jersey as a sail, perhaps an allusion to travel or the global nature of the brand.
Apparel as people
This concept uses the apparel to represent cheering fans (hoodies), a cheering family (jerseys) and an individual fan (thread unravelling).
Apparel folds
This concept combines the type of the name with a sense of folded clothes.
Chosen concept: Folds and people combined
This concept combines a sense of folding cloth with cheering fans to produce more geometric design with a little asymmetry for added interest.
...and this logo also won an international design award.
